Selling Homes to 'Slumdogs'
The Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire introduced us to the crowded shacks, open sewers, smoking landfills that more than a billion people around the world call home. By the year 2030, an additional 3 billion people will need access to housing. This translates into a demand for 96,150 new housing units every day that's 4,000 every hour! This opportunity has only a few innovators surfacing comprehensive business solutions. Ashoka is changing the equation with it's Hybrid Value Chain business model, which leverages the strengths of social entrepreneurs and businesses to transform markets by delivering essential products to low income markets.
